Brewery Morous Rýmařov – Honest Craft Beer from Jeseníky Come and taste our original beer specialties and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Jeseníky paired with the flavor of Morous. Why the name Morous at Hotel Slunce? While searching for a name connected to our region, the phrase "when our brewer is such a Morous" came up during a discussion — and that’s how our brewery got its name! The name and branding of Morous Brewery reflect the raw history of the Sudetenland and the rugged nature of Jeseníky. Morous may look tough, but he hides a good heart — just like our brewer, Karel Polišenský, who proudly considers himself a typical Morous. The brewery’s design, created by the Little Greta agency, was unveiled in summer 2019 and went on to win an award at the UK Muse Awards

We brew bottom-fermented beers—traditional Czech Pilsner-style lagers—using the classic decoction method. Our malts come from Moravian humna, and we use Czech and Moravian hops. The wort is fermented with brewer’s yeast in open fermenters. After the main fermentation, the young beer is transferred to lager tanks where it undergoes secondary fermentation and lagering for 6–8 weeks at around 3°C, allowing it to mature to perfection. From time to time, we also brew special beers in different styles. Be sure to try our unique specialty, Morous Peony.

  • 11% and 12% light lager,
  • 13% semi-dark strong beer,
  • occasionally other types and styles of beers e.g. APA 12%,
  • malt soft drink "Morous's Peony" , which is an unfermented wort of 6%, or a non-alcoholic drink, because the alcohol together with CO2 is created only by the yeast "adding" sugars.

  • We offer guided tours of the brewery with a panel of brewer The length of the tour is about 45 min.
  • For technical reasons, the tour does not include the possibility of tasting beer directly from the tank.
  • For groups it is possible to order refreshments according to requirements (snacks, lunch/dinner, buffets).

Příběh názvu rodinného pivovaru Morous v Rýmařově odkazuje na charakter Jeseníků, historii Sudet i poctivé řemeslné pivo vařené přímo v Hotelu Slunce.

Název rodinného pivovaru Morous nevznikl náhodou. Ve hře bylo několik názvů – například RyVal s odkazem na Rýmařov a rodinu Valových, Brokát připomínající textilní historii Rýmařovska nebo Ryšák navazující na Hotel Slunce.

Nakonec ale zazněla věta: „Když ten náš sládek je takový Morous…“ A bylo rozhodnuto.

Pivovar Morous v Rýmařově dnes odkazuje nejen na poctivé řemeslné pivo, ale i na charakter Jeseníků a bývalých Sudet – kraje, který je na první pohled drsný, syrový a neústupný, ale uvnitř má dobré srdce.Stejnou filozofii nese i design pivovaru Morous i samotné pivo vařené přímo v Hotelu Slunce v Jeseníkách.

A jak s úsměvem říká paní sládková: „Každý muž je občas Morous.“ Což jistě potvrdí nejedna žena.
